Erik Bendle came a long way, from Nashville to the Botanic Gardens in Memphis. You might say he’s a world traveler. He passed through Bartlett on Sept. 17 during the last leg of his journey. He was pushing a giant globe along that path for multiple purposes: To raise awareness for the “2015 Step Out: Memphis” 5K, held on Sept. 19 to raise money and awareness about diabetes. Heis a Louisville, Ky., resident and he was also raising awareness for his city’s event this weekend. Finally, he wanted to call attention to a similar event in Nashville in November.
