
Cities announce Sept. 7 closures for Labor Day
In honor of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7, area cities have announced the following facility closures and changes to trash pickup schedules:
Bartlett City Hall, library and animal shelter will be closed. Trash pickups will be delayed by one day. The Bartlett Recreation Center will be open 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.; the Singleton Community Center will be closed.
Lakeland City Hall and senior center will be closed.
Arlington Town Hall, library, public works and senior center will be closed.

Voter registration push relies on social media
Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett is urging everyone to use the hashtag #GoVoteTN on social media in September to encourage others to register to vote. People should have someone take a picture of them holding an “I’m registered to vote. Are you?” sign. Then post it online with the hashtag.
