Bartlett High School has a very good reason to retire Kenzie Fields’ jersey. In fact, the school has 2,355 reasons.

That’s the number of her career kills during her four-year volleyball stint at the school.

As the most decorated volleyball player ever to walk the halls of Bartlett High, she was honored in a Friday ceremony.

She became the first volleyball player in the school’s history to have her jersey number retired. A banner also lists her name, her years at the school and that big, beautiful number of 2,355.

At the Friday ceremony, her coach read out her Bartlett High career stats:

  • Third in the state of Tennessee
  • 714 in a season, sixth in the state
  • Varsity starter all four years of high school
  • District Player of the Year, 2011-14
  • District Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP), 2011-14
  • Region Tournament MVP, 2011-14
  • Best of the Preps All Metro, 2011-14
  • BOP Finalist for Volleyball, 2012, 2013, 2014
  • BOP Volleyball Player of the Year Award, 2014
  • Named All-State by the Tennessee Sportswriters in 2012 and 2014
  • Nominated for Gatorade Player of the Year in the State of Tennessee in 2014 and 2014

[Editor’s note, Aug. 7, 2015: This version corrects a factual error in the original story. Kenzie Fields’ sport is volleyball.]
