Bartlett families ready for sloshes, giggles at Splash Pad

splashpark-4Hot summer days just turned cooler for Bartlett’s children. The Bartlett Recreation Center Splash Pad will open for business this Saturday.

Up to 125 children can enjoy the colorful fixtures and the cool spray, drip and slosh of water.

Splash parks are regarded as lower risks for drowning because there is no standing water.

Operating hours in Bartlett will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays. The season will end on Labor Day.

The Splash Pad is free to BRC members. For non-members who live in Bartlett, the day pass cost is $5 per child. For non-members who live elsewhere, the cost is $12 per child. Adults accompanying children may enter at no cost.

Family summer passes are available for $90 (Splash Pad only), $156 (Splash Pad and BRC membership for Bartlett residents) and $234 (Splash Pad and BRC membership for non-Bartlett residents.

The site has a number of safety rules: There must be one adult for every three children, and children under 12 have to be supervised at all times. No glass bottles are allowed anywhere in the facility. Kids can’t hang, climb or swing on the equipment. Large vans or buses are not allowed. Leave the pets at home.
