Memphis business owner David Skelton of Evergreen UV LLC has pledged to donate one ultraviolet (UV) germicidal air disinfection unit to every school in the Bartlett City Schools district.

UV germicidal technology uses UV rays to destroy bacteria, virus, and germs.

The fixtures will be installed in school clinics at each of the 11 locations in the Bartlett City Schools district. Evergreen UV is also donating a portable surface disinfection unit that can be moved between schools to control high-risk infectious outbreaks.

“UV germicidal upper air fixtures are used around the world to eliminate the infectious airborne pathogens that cause sickness and disease,” Skelton said. “These advanced air disinfection systems will help to protect both students and staff.”

Evergreen UV, located at 1931 Thomas Road in Memphis, is the manufacturer of Lumalier environmental disinfection products used in numerous schools, hospitals, and government facilities nationwide.
