A kiss is but a kiss to a Boston Marathon runner
Our hat’s off to the Lakeland runner who made a name for herself by completing the Boston Marathon April 20 and then stealing a quick runner’s smooch from one of the onlookers, according to the race’s traditions.
Barbara Tatge’s photo of the kiss and her daughter’s search for the mystery man went viral online.
Then she got a good-humored response from the man’s wife, who was surprised but not mad, commenting that the moment captured the spirit of the race.
Tatge still apologized for any embarrassment caused to the couple, who have chosen to remain anonymous.
Tatge’s plan for the next race: Kiss single men.
