The Arlington Tigers knocked off Dyer County 83-79 Feb. 27 at Bolton High School in the Region 7-AAA championship game.

The win guarantees the first time in history that the Tigers will advance to sub-state competition, which was postponed Monday due to inclement weather. Sub-state play resumed at Arlington when Shelby County Schools reopened.

Clinging to a two-point lead at halftime of the Feb. 27 game against the 25-5 Choctaws, Arlington went on a 21-7 run in the third period, putting the game out of reach despite a 31-point Dyer County surge in the final quarter. K.J. Bates led the Tigers with 22 points.
