LAKELAND – Initial reports say a pre-dawn lightning strike is apparently responsible for a major Lakeland home fire on Friday, June 1.
Fire crews from Shelby County and Memphis responded to the scene in the 9800 block of Kingsridge Drive around 2:30 a.m.
Reportedly, the previous owners had just moved out and the house was vacant.
Details have not yet been released about the fire investigation or whether any firefighters were injured.
