Bartlett Police reports for April 10-17, 2016

April 10


Forrest Shadow Lane (robbery)

Three men grabbed another man’s purse as he was returning home from shopping in the Wolfchase area on April 10 around 10 p.m. A friend dropped the victim off, and just after he exited the vehicle, a red pickup stopped on Shadowlawn facing north. Three men piled out of the truck and tried to grab the victim’s purse. He fought but eventually lost control of the bag.


April 12


Kirby Whitten Road (business burglary)

An officer responding to a commercial alarm just before 4 a.m. April 12 found a burglary scene at Richard’s Armory (3135 Kirby Whitten Road). Someone had pried the back door open with a pair of 18-inch Stanley bolt cutters and a Hyper-Tough pry bar that were left behind.

Items were scattered about the business, and a glass display case for pistols was shattered.

Officers found three pistols spilled onto the back drive of the business, and they found a fourth weapon, a silver-and-black Smith & Wesson, southwest of the business next to a dumpster.

The responding officer also found a black Reebok T-shirt with a Minnesota Vikings logo on it next to the dumpster.

Items taken into evidence included the crime tools, the first three pistols and the shirt. The fourth pistol was returned to the business.

Officers working the scene also located a surveillance camera.

Wild Dune Lane (theft)

An intruder took a large slab of Venetian Gold granite from a home under construction on Wild Dune Lane. The theft happened on April 7 around 12:45 p.m., and the complainant reported it on April 12.

The suspect is an unknown white male, possibly in his 30s. He backed a gold four-door truck (possibly a Chevy) with a matching hard cover over the truck bed into the home’s driveway.

He entered through the open garage and left the scene with the granite from the kitchen island.

Kevin Drive (residential burglary)

Someone stole two TVs from a Kevin Drive home, the owner reported on April 12. The TVs were a 42-inch LG ($350) and a 48-inch LG ($1,200). The thefts occurred between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and there were no signs of forced entry.


April 15


E. Foxhill Drive (auto theft)

A Dawnhill Road resident parked his truck in a friend’s driveway on East Foxhill Drive on April 13, but his truck was missing later. He reported the theft mid-day on April 15. It is a white 1992 Chevrolet Silverado.

Third Road (suspicious circumstance)

A Third Road resident reported that someone entered his home unlawfully on April 15 and removed the cover of the air vent in his bedroom. Nothing of value was taken, and the responding officer did not see any sign of forced entry into the home. The victim said it occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.


April 17


Blackwell Cove (burglary)

A man noticed on April 16 that someone had stolen his Sears Skill Saw ($50) and red five-gallon gas can ($15) from his garage, and he reported the burglary the next day.
